I’m going to PantheaCon this year! It’ll be my first Pagan conference so I’m really excited. I don’t know what to expect, but as a self-acknowledged religion geek, this should be right up my alley. Plus, I get extra credit if I write up a report on it for my Pagan Traditions class. (Score!)
I always thought of Cons as market places where people set up booths and buy things. Since I’m a broke college student, I never saw the point of attending. All I would ever hear from people who attend these things, are about all the shinies they bought at the markets. Shinies are cool, especially handmade shinies, but it wasn’t practical for me, so I never considered attended before.
It only occurred to me a few days ago—upon hearing my religious studies professor talking about it—that there are lectures and workshops to attend, and that these are actually the heart of these public events. I LOVE learning so as soon as my perception about Cons changed, I immediately started looking into my local Con. PantheaCon is only a few days away! (Woot!)
I’m going to attend as many lectures and workshops as I possibly can, and will report back about everything I learn, and see, and do. I’m so excited. I’ll enter a Con virgin and leave a Con woman.
Anyone else going?
