Re: Magic and Religion (Science later)

So I had a conversation with my professor about this categorization issue. She said that paganism is included in the Religion section (as opposed to the Magic), because it is a religious movement. This section is more about social, political, and cultural movements in regards to religion, and paganism certainly applies. So that explains a lot. Paganism is a movement; and is still going strong. So far, in this class section, we are defining the differences between nativistic, revivalistic, millenarian, and mass movements. My chosen text for this section is a pagan classic: Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler. I can’t believe it took me so long to dive into this book! Bad pagan. ;)

I’m a pan(en)theistic Pagan with a quick tongue, black thumb, and no sense of elemental direction. Otherwise, I’m awesome.
